NEW, tangy, refreshing.
While much less known that its cousin region, Marlborough, just over the mountains to the east, Nelson is a wonderful place to make a variety of wines. That is what they do, aromatics fare especially well in Nelson and the arts community here (and beaches), make for a great little vacation spot.
This newly release Savvy offers aromas of snap peas and asparagus, racy lime, gooseberries, passionfruit and crunchy green apples. The palate is racy; it's less tropical than its counterparts, think more crunchy flavours layered with herbs. It is exceedingly fresh with good palate weight start to stop. The finish is mouthwatering with a peach flavoured linger.
As recommended, it's a wine for seafood, but also most starters, salads, goat cheese quiche and grilled asparagus with a drizzle of lemon.
